Between now and Oct. 5th, Microsoft is offering a 50 USD rebate for the Xbox 360 Elite -- on top of the recently lowered MSRP.
The move is surely meant to be a preemptive strike at the rumored Wii price cut, but the top brass probably doesn't mind punching Sony while their down either. And since this is a mail in rebate, most won't be redeemed anyway.
Shrewd and frugal, two terms rarely directed at the team in Redmond.
